3D PRINTED PIPBOY 3000

Suhweet !

Finally got around to finishing the Pipboy3000.

Took a bit longer than I thought. I ran out of filament and we have been soooo busy filming at work.

I was on set all last week with lots of late nights so didnt even get a chance to order a new spool.

I downloaded the pipboy screen and was going to take a photo with my phone in it. Then realised as I was setting it up I needed the phone to take the picture !  Doh !

Anyway been back in the workshop this week finally got some filament and cracked on tonight.

Even though that neon green shit was a bit crazy on the eyes you could see what was going on in the print. The black one is very dark to see.

The cube still has a problem with overhangs over 45 degrees and the support setting doesn't actually add anything and I can't find a way to do it manually. Bit rubbish really.

Here are some works in progress from tonight.

The pieces all laid out.

The front main body glued together.

The back main body glued together

Various shots of the whole thing together artworked up.

Anyway there she is. Just needs some l.e.d's . a screen and a gauge and it's totally done.

It's been fun and the Cube is a cracking little machine but once this is done it's going on EBAY.

I start a new film in a month after this one finishes and I need a machine with a better resolution.

And the filament is an absolute rip off although I have found a way around using there stuff.

Going to have to do some research in to which machine to get next but have to say I saw a skull printed on a replicator 2 today and was very very impressed.

Also going to sell the pipboy itself. Seems the sensible thing to do as I can put anything I make on it towards the new printer.

I also did some prints for a boardgame i'm working on but can't publish as it's top secret so I'll have to find another little printing project. ( havent had time to draw my figures up yet ! )

Any idea's welcome !

That's me. Bye.
